Welcome to Anime-Mania! A site dedicated to various aspects of Japanese Animation. Please feel free to look around the site, and if you need to contact me, then send an email to dragonpoet. Please enjoy the site, which still requires a lot of work, but I am slowly working on it.

TIDBITS 

  • 1933 - first Japanese sound animation was produced titled "Chikara to Onna no Yononaka, directed by Kenzo Masaoka
  • 1943 - first Japanese Feature LKength animation was released titled "Momotaro no Umiwashi, directed by Mitsuse Seo
  • 1958 - first Japanese color feature film was release, titled "Hakujaden" directed by Taiji Yabushita
  • 1962 - first Japanese TV Series was released titled "Otogi Manga Calendar", which ran from until 1971
  • 1963 - first TV series which had global success, "Tetsuwan Atom" or "Astro Boy", creator by Osamu Tezuka
